Chef Sahil Arora, had bit of an insight for his future profession-to-be well around his 9th class when he had asked his Home Science teacher to allow him to take Home Science as a subject and challenged that he could make better cakes than all the girls in his class. He has come full circle since and proved his innocent query as a serious affair. He treats cooking just like an artist treats his painting.

Chef Sahil Arora joined us as the Executive Chef for the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel and Lakeside Chalet- Mumbai, Marriott Executive Apartments. He brings with him the vast experience and multicultural learning garnered over the course of a rich career spanning 18 years and various countries and diverse cuisines. His passion, experience, sensibility and dedication to food in all its forms have seen him evolve and develop a dynamic personality, adapting to various roles across the globe. Chef Arora’s areas of expertise include Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine and he also possesses strong skills in French and Italian cooking.

Chef Arora counts chefs Gordan Ramsey, Jamie Oliver and Ferran Adria amongst his key influences. An alumnus of the Institute of Advanced Management, Kolkata, Chef Arora enjoys photography in leisure, he also likes to relax by watching movies and playing with his daughter Naisha.

Chef Danish Merchant

Danish Merchant has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel. He comes with an experience of nine magnificent years in the hospitality industry.

His last assignment was at the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar as a part of the pre-opening team prior to joining Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel. He was also associated with various other prestigious brands before joining the Marriott group.


He is recognized for achieving a perfect synchronization of tradition and modernity in culinary creations through continuous research and dynamism. His culinary expertise is especially in European Cuisine.

Chef Selvaraj M.

Chef Selvaraj M. joins us an Executive Pastry Chef. He comes with 12 years of rich experience in the hospitality industry. Having worked with reputed restaurants, Chef has grown rapidly in his career as a professional dessert maker. With an exceptional experience in dessert making, Chef’s key responsibilities include overseeing the baking and desserts operations.


His creative aptitude and willingness to learn with an open mind has helped him acquire new cooking methods, recipes and menus.  Making people crave for patisserie is the only motto of Chef Selvaraj.

Chef Mohd Yunus Khan

Chef Mohd Yunus Khan has joined Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel as the (or Head of) Indian Specialty Chef. With his determination and passion for culinary arts, he took charge of Nawab Saheb, the Indian specialty restaurant at the property. The talented Chef comes with a commendable experience of 13 years in the hospitality industry.

In his current role as the Indian Speciality Chef, he is involved in preparing menus and daily specials as required, planning food festivals for the Nawab Saheb along with other responsibilities.

Chef Khan is passionate about food and authenticity, and he continuously reinvents his skills as well as his menus. He is known for innovating Indian gourmet dishes, by interesting amalgamation of ingredients and flavours.

Deepak Lenka

Chef Deepak Lenka has been recently promoted as the Chef de Cuisine. Prior to this, he was working as the banquet Sous chef for the hotel.

Within the scope of culinary operations, chef has worked across some renowned International hotel chains in India. Starting his professional journey as a hotel operational trainee, today he plays the role of a Chef de Cuisine, where he handles a team of 65 Chefs overlooking daily operations of the all-day-dining, deli, in-room dining and the Executive Lounge at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel along with kitchen operations at Lakeside Chalet – Mumbai, Marriott Executive Apartments.

Chef Lenka is a creative, hardworking and pro-active person with immense positive attitude. His passion for food is what keeps him inspired to achieve greater heights. He believes that his culinary techniques and hard work will help take the hotel as a must-visit culinary destination.
